Notice: Don't let the yellow links bother you- it is a demo of my "Word Links Gold" mod. (And don't worry, the yellow background isn't by default.)
Hello you, welcome to my blog.
This is only a test to see how some mods may effect blogs. It is only a test. There will be no profound statements nor sharing of intimate secrets here. There will however be a rant. Google Chrome is a great web browser but that said it has one horrible flaw. Its spell checker is the worst I've ever seen and that includes the spell checker I used way back in my Apple II days on whatever they considered a word processor at the time.
You would think Google who obviously has the algorithm already to know what you mean when you misspell a word in a Google search should be able to find the word I mean when spell checking in Chrome- but this is never the case. Far too often I need to open a new tab and actually go to Google and type in a word I know I misspelled and find the correct spelling that way.
Case in point was "intimate" from the first paragraph. I pronounce it in my head as "int-ter-ment" and so I was trying spelling like: intament, intiment, intimint, interment (which is actually a word but I knew wasn't the right spelling.) Right clicking on these words gave me suggestions but none were close to what I was looking for.
If I had truly mangled the word beyond hope I would understand if Google Chrome's spell checker couldn't manage. The most annoying part however is when I simply go to Google.com search and they immediately know the word I was looking for. If I put the word into a spell checker on Microsoft Word, they know the word I'm looking for too. In fact virtually every other spell checker out there knew what I was trying to spell, but Chrome did not.
I hope Google fixes this flaw in an otherwise well designed browser.
Rant over. Blog test over. Thank you for reading.
