This has been an often requested feature in vBulletin. This mod allows you to easily add extra buttons to your navbar, and even make the buttons into drop-down menus if you want.

Buttons can be shown as active (AKA "Selected") when the user is viewing the page they point to. You can set to hide any button from a guest. You can set whether links open in the same window or new window.

Basically you have as lot of choices.

    Updated to version 1.1

Greatly improved showing "Forum" as selected in all traditional forum scripts and added a setting so custom scripts can be considered a forum script if you choose.

    Note-

vBulletin has released an Alpha version of 4.2.0 today that has a full featured Navbar manager built in.

You should UNINSTALL this mod before upgrading to 4.2.0. You will need to remake Navbar links and menus using the new built in system.

There will be no further development of this mod as it will not be a built-in feature although I will leave access to this mod for those who can't upgrade to VB 4.2.x for any reason.

After further investigation you DO NOT need to uninstall this mod, it does work in VB 4.2.0 and since the new Navigation Manager does not allow for a drop down menu (Like Cool Links here on Qapla.com) you may well still find the mod useful in 4.2.0 and beyond.

A bug has been found affecting only Internet Explorer browser and only when a drop-down menu is created.

The little down "triangle" seems to be pushed out of the expected location and into the lower part of the navbar.

I have traced this to IE not resizing the tab properly to fit both the text and triangle so it effectively moves the triangle to a new line.

A quick fix for this is to go to your Admin CP -> Plugin Manager -> Edit the plugin for this mod on the process_templates_complete hook.

    Find the line:

    Code:
    $bop_submenu .= '<li class="popupmenu '.$issell.'" style="width:105px;"><a href="#" class="popupctrl navtab">'.$blabel.'<img src="' .vB_Template_Runtime::fetchStyleVar('imgdir_misc') . '/arrow.png" align="' . vB_Template_Runtime::fetchStyleVar('right') .'" /></a><ul class="popupbody">' . $bop_open_span;
And change the "105" to a larger width in pixels, something that will fit all your text and triangle better. The only issue is that ALL tabs with drop-down menus will become this size, so if you have more than one they will all become larger.

I will investigate and see if I can find a better fix for a new version.

Can you add the option to be able to make selective drop down menu items hidden to guests.

I wasn't planning on adding any new features besides possible bug fixes as the new Navigation Manager in 4.2.0 (and improvements due in 4.2.1) basically make this mod unnecessary.

BUT... As I expect one more bug fix for this at least I will see if I can get it in there- off hand I don't know how much code will need to be changed to accommodate this.

Thanks for adding me to the forum Joe ...

Once you get a handle on the IE9 issue, I assume this is the place I should look for its release?

    Appreciate your excellent work ....

    Doug
